Veitchi Flooring at the 2021 CFA / CFJ Awards

Veitchi Flooring were delighted to attend the Contract Flooring Association and Contract Flooring Journal’s Awards ceremony held at Coombe Abbey Hotel, Coventry on 3rd September 2021 and hosted by the Rev Richard Coles the celebrity Church of England Priest and Radio 4 DJ and ex member of the pop group The Communards.

This is the most prestigious event in the flooring calendar and with Veitchi Flooring nominated in six categories we attended with anticipation of a fruitful evening and were not disappointed.

Awards and nominations were as follows:

Winner – Flooring Apprentice of the year (Jack Gray)

Winner – Flooring in Community Venues (Doug McKerron for project at the Aberdeen Science Centre with Banchory Construction, using Hedlam flooring)

Finalist – Flooring in Education – Colleges & Universities (Gareth Allan for project at Health & Wellbeing Centre, University of Edinburgh with Morrison Construction, using Forbo Flooring Ststems, Tarkett UK, Altro and Nora by Interface)

Finalist – Flooring in Education – Schools (David McGregor for the project at Ayr Grammar, with Morrison Construction using Forbo Flooring Systems and Mapei)

Finalist – Flooring in Hotels (David McGregor for the project at Voco Boutique Hotel, Edinburgh with GL Flooring working with Ogilvie Construction using Brintons, CMS, Danskin, Tarkett UK, Jaymart and Dyne Tile Co Ltd)

Finalist – Flooring in Sports & Leisure (David McGregor for the project at Stirling Sports Centre working with Morrison Construction using Interface, Altro, Forbo and Gerflor)

John Brown, Veitchi Flooring MD highlighted the outstanding achievement of the team operating in such a difficult environment during the Covid crisis. “To be nominated for so many awards was extremely satisfying and underlined what we already knew about all of our flooring professionals. The wider Group also takes great pride in the achievements of its companies helping to enhance our already strong position in the UK construction market place.”
